Power & Energy (Energy flow as first-class)

Purpose

Make energy visible, optimizable, and schedulable—because energy is often the dominant cost and constraint.

This links directly to two of your laws:

  • P1 (you only borrow): energy is never free; you must account for it.
  • P3 (gradients): many physical processes are literally gradient management (thermal/pressure/field).

Components

  • charging / battery swap for robots
  • metering and energy accounting
  • thermal management (heat/cooling)
  • energy-aware scheduling (peak shaving, demand response)

What it enables

  • cheaper operations via schedule shifting
  • safer recycling and industrial processes (temperature control)
  • longer robot uptime, higher utilization

Near-term build list

  • per-job energy estimation + metering
  • “energy budget” constraints in the scheduler
  • charging & maintenance dispatch integrated with production dispatch
